Find out the which products will keep your skin glowing!

I like to keep my skincare routine simple. It’s easy, and it doesn’t take up much time or money. I’ve found that these are the products I use every single day (or every other day, depending) that make the biggest difference in my skin.

Water

One of the most important components of a skincare routine is drinking plenty of water each day. Drinking room-temperature or hot water with freshly squeezed lemon juice first thing in the morning will help hydrate your body, improve gut health and detoxify your system—all before you have your first cup of coffee or breakfast! Plus it supports immune function and jumpstarts metabolism for those days when extra energy may be needed (e.g., physical activity).

I recommend keeping a refillable water bottle on your nightstand so you’ll remember to drink from it first thing in the morning, making this into a good habit. Then throughout the day—if your thirsty or need something refreshing and hydrating— just grab your trusty bottle!

Here is two of my favorites: The Cow Carafe and Silicon Sleeve Glass Bottle.

Cleanser

In order to keep your skin healthy, it’s important to cleanse it regularly. The best cleansers remove dirt and impurities from pores without stripping essential oils or causing irritation. A good facial cleanser will have calming ingredients that soothe, balance and moisturize your skin—without drying it out.

Aveeno is a great choice to use day or night.

Toner

A toner’s main purpose is to remove any remaining dirt and impurities from your skin, tightening pores in the process. You should apply it after cleansing for a clean, healthy-looking glow. It also helps prepare the skin for better absorption of other skincare products; balancing the pH level and makes moisture retention easier.

If your skin needs extra hydration during the winter or you want something refreshing, try adding rosewater or aloe vera juice to your toner. This will make your face feel refreshed, smooth and supple!

Vitamin C Serum

The antioxidant vitamin C is a great addition to your skincare regimen because it provides sun protection and prevents free radical damage which cause inflammation and speeds up the aging process.

When you add vitamin C serum to your beauty routine, remember that it will also help reduce hyperpigmentation and signs of aging. It does this by stimulating collagen production and improving elasticity—making skin less prone to wrinkles or sagging.

Vitamin C is also known to brighten and even out skin tone. This makes it effective for treating dark spots or acne scars—as well as the sun damage that can cause them.

Remember when I suggested adding lemon to your water. That lemon juice also contains vitamin C, which provide an extra boost!— You can do this with any citrus fruit that contains citric acid.

Moisturizer

To prevent dryness and further inflammation, apply a moisturizer every day. For those with combination skin, try using a gel or cream formula that works best with your skin type. If you have oily skin—or if the weather is particularly cold or hot—use an oil-free moisturizer with sunscreen to keep your face protected

Moisturizer is the key to a flawless makeup application. It keeps your skin soft, flexible and vibrant by sealing in water.

SPF

The sun is a harsh mistress. Although its rays provide the Vitamin D that humans need to survive, they also cause skin damage and possibly even cancer. SPF provides protection against these potentially deadly effects of ultraviolet radiation by creating a barrier between your body and these harmful rays.

There are two types of SPF to consider when choosing the best sunscreen for your skin. Physical sunscreen, which sits on top of the skin and reflects the sun’s rays, is more moisturizing and good for sensitive skin. Chemical sunscreen absorbs into your epidermis and are typically water-resistant and sweat proof—ideal if you’re planning to be active.

I recommend a mineral sunscreen with zinc oxide, which protects the skin without chemicals that can seep into the body. While many dislike the white residue left behind, you should understand that this is necessary barrier stopping UVA/UVB rays from damaging your skin.

All That to say.

It’s important to remember that a skincare routine is a personal choice, so there are no wrong answers when it comes to your own skin type. You may find that some of these products aren’t necessary for you and others are an absolute must. But if you want healthy skin with minimal effort, then using all of them at least once per week would be my recommendation!
